 The Barrier Protecting the Future of the Philippines

    The Youth are considered the future of the world, not just one nation, not just a region, but the whole expanse of the world. There are various factors in considering the safety of these children, diverse onsets of Filipinos and foreigners alike share the common but ultimate potential to strive, develop, and innovate. In providing children a safe space to thrive and develop, our nation constantly formulates solutions and protection in order to guide the youth - The  National Children’s Month theme, “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” is just one of the many solutions that our nation offers. Children are the core of the world, the developing backbone that paves the way to a potential brighter future, but the youth are often subject to abuse or harassment not only limited to physical contexts.

    
    Our nation and its constituents continue to strive to provide a safer space, a Republic Act concerning child safety, also identifiable as Republic Act No. 11930, or the Anti-OSAEC law, stands as a prime solution to mitigate cases of child harm or abuse, further solidifying the efforts of the government. This act punishes whoever dares to commit any kind of abuse against the youth of our nation, thus creating a nation that delves into justice. Coinciding with the Department of Justice, this act also strengthens as guided by the appropriate workforces and authorities.

    Among the hottest issues of this age, cyberbullying seems to be taking a heavy toll on the wellbeing of the youth. A gaming platform called "Roblox" has been met with large amounts of controversy after seemingly punishing and refuting the efforts of a group that actively tries to identify and remove possible suspicious and harmful figures. After the continuous efforts of this group, the platform ultimately condemned them despite doing no wrong, this lead to Roblox garnering controversy. Due to this unethical action of Roblox, legal action from international coverage coalesced in order to end or to mitigate the effects of child abuse or harassment, this highlights the role of proper or appropriate solutions to issues and the significance of child protection acts. 

    To recapitulate, child abuse and harrasment, especially in the internet in the present era is a widespread issue among nations and among the youth. With the recent observances such as cyberbullying in one of the largest gaming platforms today known as Roblox, it is undeniable that the presence of these issues are to be met with appropriate solutions. The government along with international authorities have imposed a wide variety of laws concerning this contemporary issue, efforts and perseverance from various groups and committees continue to rise to refute wrongdoings among the youth. Cyberbullying is an issue that shouldn't be overlooked, it's a contemporary issue, and an issue that could massacre the future if ignored.
