    The Values of Amber and Stone: Preserving our Heritage This October, we commemorate the rich heritage, wisdom and resilience of Indigenous Communities nationwide through the National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month. Anchored on the theme "Weaving Culture, Enriching Future: Empowering Indigenous Communities as Bedrock of Sustainable Development, " this observance recognizes that indigenous cultures are living traditions that continue to shape our identity as a nation. Their stories, languages and practices are key threads in the diverse fabric of our society. As a living example of the theme "Weaving Culture, Enriching Future", Wang Od, the last traditional mambabbatok of the Kalinga people, has devoted her full life to preserving the tradition of indigenous tattooing which was passed down through generations.
